Description

The 2026 Moomba Max arrives as a 22-foot (overall length) performance‐wake boat designed for serious water-sports and large crews. It features a wide 102-inch beam and comfortably seats up to 16 passengers, making it equally suited for high-octane wakesurfing or a full day’s outing with family and friends.

Under the hood, the standard engine is a 6.2-litre (Ford® Raptor / Indmar) V8 delivering around 400 horsepower, paired with a 1.7 transmission. This powerplant gives the Max serious thrust for wakeboarding, wakesurfing, or simply cruising at speed. The fuel capacity of 70 gallons gives it respectable range for day outings.

One of the key performance features is the heavy ballast capacity—rated at a roughly 5,000-pound standard ballast system built into the hull. This allows the Max to generate large, surfable waves without needing a large fleet of add-ons. Combined with Moomba’s Flow Surf System and SmartPlate™ wake-shaping tools (and standard GatorStep non-skid flooring), the Max is engineered to produce consistent wakes and waves for riders of various skill levels.

The standard layout includes a spacious bow lounge area with plush seating and secure hand-holds for comfort and safety when the boat is under throttle. Storage is plentiful, with compartments under seats and dedicated areas for gear, helping keep the interior uncluttered. On the deck side, you’ll find quality features like GatorStep flooring for safety/rider-comfort, a transom-walkthrough for easy water entry/exit, and a premium sound system with Bluetooth connectivity—everything set up for both sport and cruising.

In terms of trailer and marina logistics: The Max has a length on trailer of about 26’2″, and depending on tower configuration the trailer height ranges (for example, with tower up ~130.5″). Dry boat weight (without trailer) is around 5,200 lbs in standard spec.

In operation, the Max is marketed as “built for big days and bold adventures” — whether surfing, wakeboarding, tubing, or simply relaxing with friends. The hull, ballast, and wake-system integration are tuned for wake-sports first, while the lounge capacity and comfort features make it a very credible family/friends day-boat.
